Under-eye Filler in Walnut Creek for Hollows That Make You Look Tired
Under-eye filler, also called tear trough filler, is a small amount of hyaluronic acid gel placed in the hollow between the lower lid and the cheek to restore volume, soften dark circles caused by shadow, and smooth the transition into the cheek. At Aesthetx Haus in Walnut Creek, our injectors treat this area conservatively, because it is the most delicate place on the face to put filler.

Under-eye filler softens the hollow, and the shadow that comes with it
The dark circle most people complain about is often not pigment. It is a shadow, cast into a groove that has deepened as the fat under the eye thins and the cheek below it drops. Concealer does nothing for a shadow. Filling the groove does, because there is no longer a dip for the light to fall into.
Under-eye filler at Aesthetx Haus is placed deep, in small amounts, and often only after the cheek has been assessed. A hollow under the eye is frequently a cheek problem showing up higher, and supporting the cheek first can mean less product under the eye, or none.
Here is the honest part. This is the area where a good injector says no most often. Thin skin, puffiness, and a tendency to swell all make the under-eye a poor candidate for filler in some faces, and product placed where it should not be looks worse than the hollow did. If your provider says the tear trough is not the right move for you, that is the consultation doing its job.
Filler or PRF? Under-eye PRF uses platelet-rich fibrin from your own blood instead of a synthetic gel, and suits people whose concern is skin quality and darkness rather than a true hollow. It is the regenerative alternative, and your provider offers both.

The appointment
What to expect
Consultation
Your provider assesses the depth of the hollow, the skin quality, how much the area swells, and whether the cheek needs support first. Your provider then tells you whether filler is the right treatment, and what it will cost.
Numbing
Topical anesthetic, plus the lidocaine already in the filler.
Injections
Very small amounts placed deep in the trough, checked from several angles. Under-eye treatment uses less product than almost any other area.
Aftercare
Some swelling and possibly bruising for a few days. Avoid strenuous activity, heat, alcohol, blood thinners and pressure on the area for 24 to 48 hours. Sleep on your back with your head raised the first night.
Results
The hollow softens immediately. The area settles over two to four weeks, and only then does your provider decide whether a touch more is needed.
Candidacy
Is under-eye filler right for you?
Under-eye filler is likely a good fit if you:
- are at least 18
- have a visible hollow or groove under the eye that casts a shadow
- look tired even when you are rested, and concealer does not fix it
- have realistic, subtle goals
- are in good general health, and not pregnant or breastfeeding
- have no active skin infection at the treatment site
Under-eye filler is not right for you if your concern is puffiness or bags rather than a hollow. Filler adds volume, and adding volume to a puffy under-eye makes it puffier. Your provider will say so at consultation.
Cost
What affects the cost
The cost of under-eye filler follows the amount of product, and that varies more between faces here than anywhere else. The depth of the hollow matters, and so does whether the cheek needs support first, which can mean less product under the eye. Your provider confirms your plan and its cost at your consultation, before treatment.
If the cheek needs support first, that is a separate treatment.
Cherry financing splits the cost into payments after a soft credit check.

How much does under-eye filler cost in Walnut Creek?
Under-eye filler cost depends on how deep the hollow is and whether the cheek needs support first, because both change how much product goes in. Your provider gives you the exact cost at your consultation, before any treatment is booked, and Cherry financing is available.
How long does under-eye filler last?
How long under-eye filler lasts depends on the product used and your anatomy. Your provider gives you a realistic expectation at consultation.
Does under-eye filler hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. Topical numbing goes on first and the filler contains lidocaine, so you feel pressure rather than pain.
How long is under-eye filler recovery?
Plan on a few days of swelling and possibly a bruise. Avoid exercise, heat and pressure for 24 to 48 hours. The area settles fully over two to four weeks.
Will under-eye filler fix my dark circles?
It helps when the darkness is a shadow cast by a hollow. It does not change skin pigment. Your provider will tell you at consultation which one you have, and if it is pigment or skin quality, under-eye PRF may be the better route.
Can under-eye filler be reversed?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler dissolves with hyaluronidase, which matters more here than anywhere else on the face.
