Lip filler and dermal fillers

Filler Dissolving in Walnut Creek for Migrated, Lumpy or Overdone Filler

Filler dissolving is an injection of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid filler, used to remove product that has migrated, been overfilled or simply never suited the face. At Aesthetx Haus in Walnut Creek, our injectors dissolve filler from any previous provider.

Dissolving is the reset that makes good filler possible

Hyaluronic acid filler is reversible, and that is the single most useful fact about it. When filler has moved above the lip line, settled into a lump, or been layered so many times that the shape is gone, hyaluronidase takes it back to zero. Then the face can be treated properly, from a clean start.

The most common reason people come to Aesthetx Haus for dissolving is lip filler that has migrated over years of top-ups elsewhere. The upper lip looks shelf-like, the border is blurred, and adding more only makes it worse. The second most common is a cheek or under-eye that was overfilled and now looks puffy in every photo.

The rule in this studio is simple and non-negotiable: migrated filler from elsewhere gets dissolved before anything new goes in. Not at the same appointment, not "just a little on top to even it out." Building on top of migrated product is how people end up with lips they no longer recognise, and your provider will not do it, even if you ask.

The appointment

What to expect

  1. Consultation

Your provider examines where the old filler sits, how much there is, and whether it is the kind hyaluronidase can dissolve. Hyaluronidase only works on hyaluronic acid filler, so if you do not know what was used, say so.

  2. Numbing

    Topical anesthetic on the area.

  3. Injections

Hyaluronidase is placed directly into the old filler in small amounts, sometimes across more than one point. The appointment is short.

  4. Aftercare

Some swelling and possibly bruising for a few days. Avoid strenuous activity, heat, alcohol, blood thinners and pressure on the area for 24 to 48 hours.

  5. Results and next steps

The filler breaks down over the following days. Once the area has settled and your provider is happy the old product is gone, new filler can be placed at a separate visit, if you still want it.

Candidacy

Is filler dissolving right for you?

Filler dissolving is likely a good fit if you:

  • have hyaluronic acid filler that has migrated, lumped or been overfilled
  • had filler elsewhere and want it corrected or removed before new work
  • want a full reset rather than a patch on top of an old result
  • are in good general health, and not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • have no active skin infection at the treatment site

Filler dissolving is not right for you if the product in your face is not hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronidase does not dissolve other types of filler, and your provider will tell you at consultation if that is the case.

Cost

What affects the cost

The cost of filler dissolving depends on how much old filler there is and how many sessions it takes to clear. Filler that has built up over several years may take more than one dissolving session to clear fully, and your provider tells you at consultation whether to expect that. Your provider confirms your plan and its cost at your consultation, before any treatment is booked.

If you go on to have new lip filler, that happens at a separate appointment with its own plan.

Cherry financing splits the cost of the dissolve and the new filler into payments after a soft credit check.

Questions

Filler dissolving questions, answered

Still unsure? Book a consultation, and our team will answer anything this page does not.

How much does filler dissolving cost in Walnut Creek?

Filler dissolving cost depends on how much old filler needs to be broken down and whether it will take more than one session to clear. Your provider examines the area and gives you the exact cost at your consultation, before any treatment is booked. New filler afterward is planned separately, and Cherry financing is available.

How long does filler dissolving last?

Dissolving is permanent for the filler it reaches: hyaluronidase breaks the product down and it does not come back. Your own natural tissue is unaffected, and any new filler placed later behaves like a fresh treatment.

Does filler dissolving hurt?

Discomfort is minimal. The area is numbed first, and the treatment itself is quick.

How long is filler dissolving recovery?

A few days of swelling and possibly a bruise, with the first 24 to 48 hours the most swollen. The area can look deflated for a short time while the old filler clears and your tissue settles, which is normal.

Can I get new filler the same day I dissolve?

No, not at Aesthetx Haus. Your provider waits until the old product has fully cleared and the area has settled before placing anything new, so the new filler is shaped against your real anatomy rather than the leftover of someone else's work.

Will dissolving remove all of my filler?

Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler, which is what most lip, cheek and jawline filler is. Filler that was built up over many years may need more than one session, and your provider can only dissolve product they can reach and identify.
