Botox for Sweating in Walnut Creek: Underarms and Hands, No More Ruined Shirts

Hyperhidrosis treatment uses a neuromodulator such as Botox to block the signals that activate overactive sweat glands, which reduces excessive sweating in the underarms and hands. At Aesthetx Haus in Walnut Creek, our injectors perform the treatment. The cost depends on an assessment of the area and is confirmed at your consultation.

Sweating through a shirt in an air conditioned office is a medical problem, not a hygiene one

If you keep a spare shirt at work, avoid grey, or dread shaking hands, you already know what hyperhidrosis is. It is sweating far beyond what your body needs to cool down, and it happens whether or not you are hot. Deodorant is not the fix, because the problem is not smell. The problem is the signal telling the glands to work.

Neuromodulator treatment interrupts that signal. Product is placed in the skin of the underarms or the palms, and the overactive glands in that area stop getting the message to sweat. The relief is long lasting rather than permanent, and it comes back gradually as the product wears off.

Our opinion: this is one of the most underused treatments on the menu, and the people who need it most tend to assume it is a vanity thing. It is not. It is the difference between wearing what you want and planning your wardrobe around your armpits. If clinical antiperspirants have not worked for you, this is the next step, and it is fine to treat it like the medical issue it is.

The appointment

What to expect

  1. Consultation

Your provider asks where you sweat, how much it interferes with your day and what you have tried. Your provider then tells you whether the treatment fits, how many units, and the cost.

  2. Numbing

A topical numbing agent goes on first. The underarms are the easier area; hands are more sensitive and your provider will talk you through comfort before starting.

  3. Injections

A series of small, shallow injections across the treated area. The appointment takes minutes.

  4. Aftercare

Stay upright for a few hours and skip strenuous exercise for the rest of the day. Do not rub the area. Minor swelling or small bruises are normal and short lived.

  5. Results

Sweating reduces over the following days and the result settles in about two weeks. Neuromodulator results last three to six months, and your provider will set expectations for your case.

Candidacy

Is hyperhidrosis treatment right for you?

It is likely a good fit if you:

  • are at least 18
  • sweat from the underarms or hands well beyond what heat or exercise explains
  • are in good physical and mental health, with no medical contraindications
  • have realistic expectations about a treatment that reduces sweating for a few months at a time

It is not the right treatment if you are expecting zero sweat, permanently. It reduces, and it wears off. If that trade sounds worth it, the consultation is where to start.

Cost

What affects the cost

The cost of hyperhidrosis treatment follows the unit count, and the unit count depends on the area treated and how large it is. Underarms and hands are assessed separately. Your provider confirms your unit count and the cost at your consultation, before any treatment is booked.

Members pay $12 per unit for Botox and bank their monthly fee as credit toward treatments. Cherry financing splits the cost into payments after a soft credit check that does not affect your score.

How much does Botox for sweating cost in Walnut Creek?

The cost of Botox for sweating depends on whether you are treating underarms, hands or both, and how large the area is, because that sets the unit count. Your provider gives you the exact cost at a private consultation, before any treatment is booked. Cherry financing is available.

How long does Botox for sweating last?

Neuromodulator results at Aesthetx Haus typically last three to six months, and the old menu describes the relief as long lasting. Sweating returns gradually as the product wears off, and most clients repeat the treatment when it does.

Does Botox for sweating hurt?

The underarms are straightforward: a topical numbing agent goes on first and each injection is a quick pinch. Hands are more sensitive, and your provider will discuss how to keep you comfortable before treating them.

How long is recovery?

There is no downtime. You go back to your day, stay upright for a few hours, skip strenuous exercise until tomorrow and do not rub the treated area.

Does Botox for sweating treat the feet too?

The menu at Aesthetx Haus lists underarms and hands. If your concern is elsewhere, ask at the consultation and your provider will tell you honestly whether we treat it.

Is it the same product as cosmetic Botox?

Yes. The same neuromodulators used for forehead lines are placed into the skin of the underarm or palm instead of a facial muscle, where they block the signal to the sweat glands.
